Masterclasses
Clinicals and Workshops
Avoid performance plateaus and break through new stage ownership barriers. Command your performance anxiety and utilize it for your benefit with one-on-one coaching in-person or over Zoom. For large group presentations, my masterclasses and workshops focus largely on techniques that work with sensations in the performance moment.
CLINICS
Clinics are a great way to expose your students to new ideas. Students enjoy the varied perspectives and often see rapid improvement. They are also great ways to introduce and cover topics that are sometimes hard to introduce otherwise. There’s not a one size fits all to helping students and music educators, that’s why all of my clinics are custom tailored to fit your needs and constraints.
Audience: Students
Performing is nerve-racking!! We’ve all been on stage and felt the effects of performance anxiety from knocking knees to dry mouth. Perform with Confidence was developed from my own personal journey with my musical self confidence and performance anxiety. Discovery about myself in my personal life led me to realizations about why I was lacking confidence in my performing abilities and always getting anxious onstage. I had been focusing on the wrong things in my playing, and after changing my focus and saw rapid improvement, not just in my confidence but in my overall playing ability. Not only could I play better, but I was less anxious doing it! This clinic focuses on common pitfalls that lead to lack of confidence and anxiety. Students learn what to and not to focus on while playing, and some specific exercises to help them ingrain those new habits.
Audience: Teachers and Students
Teaching students is tough! It’s great when it goes well and you can see your students learning and progressing. But sometimes it just seems like there is a brick wall between you and your student. Nothing you say seems to get through. It’s frustrating. Connecting and Empowering Students all about how to break through that barrier (and ones you don’t even realize exists). Connecting with students is the first step to breaking that barrier and understanding what is going on. Empowering them is all about helping them find solutions to their own problems. Empowered students are engaged students. Often these solutions are not what you or I would have come up with, which is what makes them so powerful. Students remember the solutions that they create themselves.
